Resimax Group unveils Mt Mary Road, connecting two of Australia’s fastest growing municipalities

Resimax Group has unveiled Mt Mary Road in Melbourne’s western growth corridor, with the $20 million critical infrastructure project marking the first direct connection between Australia’s fastest-growing municipality, Melton, and the sixth fastest-growing, Wyndham.

Stretching five kilometres in length, Mt Mary Road connects residents living in Eynesbury to neighbouring Wyndham, providing access to additional healthcare, schooling and retail services. Mt Mary Road also directly connects to the previously completed Green Hill Road, developed by Resimax Group in 2021. The combined completion of both roads is anticipated to alleviate traffic congestion both ways.

With 10,080 vehicle movements forecasted to commute to and from Eynesbury daily, Resimax Group projects the new transport link will carry over three million vehicle movements annually.

“When Resimax Group took over the development of Eynesbury, we made it our immediate priority to commence the delivery of Mt Mary Road and Green Hill Road to improve the lack of connectivity. Recycling equity from land settlements and later refinancing the site allowed us to complete both roads in relatively quick succession.

“By allowing neighbouring municipalities to connect to Eynesbury, it also allowed us to ensure the suburb’s long-term growth and prosperity, whilst improving travel times and accessibility to services for residents living there,” said Ozzie.

In total, we have invested $32 million in new infrastructure and services under the Development Contributions framework, alongside an additional $20 million in amenities, including open spaces, a golf course, a restaurant, a café, parklands and other essential facilities.

The unveiling of Mt Mary Road was celebrated on Sunday October 27th with the inaugural “Run the Road” event hosted in partnership with the Black Dog Institute. Approximately $10,000 was raised for Mental Health Awareness Month on the day, with Resimax Group matching every dollar raised up to $15,000. The event also included a ribbon cutting with Member for Melton, Steve McGhie.

“We are thrilled to see the local community benefitting from new infrastructure, such as Mt Mary Road, that connects them to vital services, amenity and social links.

“Initiatives such as Eynesbury Run the Road allow us to come together and celebrate this new connection, whilst supporting the mental health and wellbeing of our communities in a meaningful and active way,” Mr McGhie said.

Funds raised on the day support Black Dog Institute’s mission to foster a mentally healthier world through advanced mental health research, education and awareness and create change in communities where it is needed most.

Development Director at Resimax Group, Callan Ainsaar, said the partnership with Black Dog Institute aligns with our commitment to fostering healthier, connected communities in the region and supporting council and government investment into mental health.

“Long commutes and high transport costs lead to reduced time with family and less time for leisure and recreation activities. This creates a negative impact on the health and wellbeing outcomes of communities in disconnected areas.

“By providing improved access to local amenities, Mt Mary Road will play a crucial role in enhancing community wellbeing, enabling residents to connect with vital services and recreational spaces that support mental health,” Callan concluded.
