Beveridge Intermodal Freight Terminal

Connecting Victoria to the rest of Australia

Sitting at the juncture of the Melbourne-Sydney-Brisbane rail line and the Hume Freeway, the upcoming Beveridge Intermodal Freight Terminal will link Victoria’s two largest ports – Melbourne and Geelong – to the rest of the Australia. And with $1.62 billion in federal funding already secured, this game-changing project is set to inject over 20,000 associated jobs into the local economy.

 

Future Gunns Gully Road Interchange

Improved travel times for the North

Set for completion by 2028, the Gunns Gully Road Interchange will create a smoother, faster connection between Tàrà and the Hume Freeway. Designed to support the region’s growing community, this project will improve travel times, support local businesses, and enhance local connections.

BIG PLANS FOR NORTHERN HOSPITAL

$880M Expansion Proposed

A major $880 million expansion has been proposed for Northern Hospital, including a brand-new emergency department with 70 extra treatment spaces and a new tower with over 100 inpatient beds. With completion proposed in 2028, the upgrade will allow the hospital to care for an additional 58,000 patients each year and bring many new jobs to the area.

La Trobe University Bundoora

Building the City of the Future

La Trobe University Bundoora is the major university servicing the area, and it is set to transform into a thriving hub of education, innovation and community life. This bold vision includes a state-of-the-art research and innovation precinct, world-class sports facilities, a dedicated health and wellbeing hub and dynamic new retail, commercial, and residential spaces.

 

This project will be a major driver of economic and social growth in Melbourne’s Northern Growth Corridor, supporting over 40,000 students, creating 20,000+ new jobs and contributing $3.5 billion to the area’s economy over the next decade.
